Zeke @ 2 months

Zeke is already 2 months old! It seems like the time is going by a lot faster than it did with Rosalee, much to my dismay. It's nice to have them get older, be able to feed themselves, walk, etc. but I love having my little baby and like being able to snuggle with him. Today Zeke went to the doctor and here are his vitals-
~Height- 24 inches, which puts him just shy of the 90th percentile!
~Weight- 11 pounds, which is in the 40th percentile
~Head- 16.25 inches, which is in the 80th percentile
*Zeke has a pretty consistent schedule. He either wakes up at 2:30 am and then again at 6:30 am or he'll sleep until 5 am. Then he eats and goes back to sleep until 8:30-9ish when he wants to eat again. Then he stays awake for about one or two hours just hanging out. He'll eat again and then take a very long nap. He usually sleeps from 11 am until 2:30-3 which is great because Rosalee goes to sleep around 2 so I do get "me" time during the day. At 3 he's starving so he eats A LOT and then is awake again for a few hours. Around 5:30 every night he gets fussy for about 30 minutes and then wants to eat. During the fussy time he doesn't want to eat, has a clean diaper, doesn't want his pacifier, etc. he just wants to be mad for a little bit. After he eats he'll take a short nap and wake up around 8 pm. From 8 to 10 he eats and eats and eats! He'll take a break to have his diaper changed and to get his pajamas on, but for the most part he's chowing down. Then around 10:30 he goes to sleep and I don't hear from him until either 2:30 or 5 am the next day.
*Zeke is also know as Zekey, Zekelet, Mister, and Mr. Rooty Toots
*Zeke HATES being cold! He will sleep longer at night if we put him in a fleece outfit and then wrap him tightly in one or two thick blankets. I fear that he'll overheat, but so far he hasn't turned red or profusely sweat. During the day I have to keep him in socks or he won't take a nap, will fuss while eating, and give me a death glare while hanging out.

These booties from my aunt and uncle have worked MIRACLES!
*Zeke's smile is huge and takes up most of his face, it is the cutest thing! Sadly he'll only make the big smile for short bursts and then just grin so capturing the smile is a bit of a challenge.
*Zeke's eyes are big, bright, and blue. I know they could (and probably will) change but I really hope they stay this color!

*Zeke sleeps with his arms up at odd angles if he isn't swaddled in a blanket. He'll keep his arms up for a good hour before they relax and fall limp at his side.

*Zeke can do with or without his pacifier. He'll only use the brand that hospitals use but thankfully Wal-Mart has them so we'll be okay if his gets lost. He usually wants the pacifier to help him fall asleep if a certain toddler is being rather noisy during the day. But it seems that as soon as he's in a deep enough sleep the pacifier will fall out of his mouth. He also seems to like it when he's in the car.

*Zeke is getting better at giving me a warning when he gets hungry. Now he'll grunt, move around, smack his lips, and then start fussing. Sometimes I'll get up to 3 minutes to get to him before he'll get too irritated.

*Zeke's sister loves him VERY much and loves to help with him. Sometimes she loves him too much and will squish him with hugs, but for the most part everything is okay. This past week she'll tell us that she's a baby and when we remind her that babies don't eat food she quickly changes her mind. She also tries to snuggle with Zeke during naps. She'll put her head on the pillow next to him and sing to him. The only time this gets her into trouble is when she tries to climb into the bassinet to snuggle with him.

*Zeke enjoys blues music A LOT! While at my parent's house my dad turned on some blues music and Zeke went to town wiggling and cooing. We can get him to coo at us every once in a while but when the blues are playing he talks up a storm! He was making "sentences" and smiling like a fool. I tested it here at home to see if it was a fluke, but nope, I got the same excited reaction from him. So for the past two nights I've snuggled with him in bed listening to the blues before putting him down for the night. It's nice to have the last sounds I hear at night be Zeke's coos and grunts.
